Ms. Mangan's Art Room
Welcome to Ms. Mangan's Art Room!
I am the Fine Art Teacher at Dawes Elementary School; located on the southside of Chicago. I have been teaching 4th to 8th grade Art for the last 9 years and I love it!
I set up this site as a way for students and parents to get more involved in what is happening in the Fine Art classes at Dawes. In this site you will find what's currently going on at each grade level, examples of art from previous years, some great art websites, and some information about me.
Clubs
Art Club
Art Club meets throughout the school year and focuses on different media from drawing to sculpture.
During the spring we have been meeting on Tuesdays after school untill 4:30. We have been working on square canvases and the students were introduced to the idea of creating a series.
Mural Club
"Muralistas" is a club that only meets during the summer. In this club we discuss mural ideas as a group, sketch out different designs, and project them onto a wall in the school to be traced and painted!
